Whole grain basmati rice has a slightly nutty taste. The word "basmati" comes from Hindi and means "fragrance". The name is rightly given to the rice because it smells really good and when cooked it will dazzle your whole house with its aroma. But how is it different from the white rice that most of us are probably familiar with? It differs from white rice in that it is not husked, which means that the husk contains more beneficial substances that support our digestive and cardiovascular systems.
